MOnoprints
monoprint, pastel, and oil on paper and canvas
"Making monoprints was a needed relief from the collage work I been totally consumed by. I came up with a way to do a handprint and then overlay it with pastels to add color. It was so much fun to do these that after pulling some thirty prints I had to force myself to stop. The smell of oil paints had for to long been absent from my studio, but I wasn't ready to give up the joy of making monoprints. So I found a way to combine the two. I quickly saw that once again I needed to express ideas about the human condition" - Renée Rosen
